This is a 6-day trip through the Yucatan Peninsula, where you have the opportunity to know the traditions and customs of the people of Yucatán, so you can also know about the ancient maya and spanish conquest history through its cities and buildings at colony times, you can also enjoy the natural attractions that the land of the “Mayab” (as the yucatán península was known in prehispanic times) offers you such as its nature reserves, colonial towns, archaeological mayan ruins, haciendas, sandy beaches, succulent gastronomy and the hospitality of its people.

ITINERARY

This is a 6-day trip through the Yucatan Peninsula, where you have the opportunity to know the traditions and customs of the people of Yucatán, so you can also know about the ancient maya and spanish conquest history through its cities and buildings at colony times, you can also enjoy the natural attractions that the land of the “Mayab” (as the yucatán península was known in prehispanic times) offers you such as its nature reserves, colonial towns, archaeological mayan ruins, haciendas, sandy beaches, succulent gastronomy and the hospitality of its people.

Day 1.- The departure is from Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Valladolid bound for the Bacalar lagoon known as “the seven colors lagoon” due to its different shades of blue that presents this lagoon. Upon our arrival in Bacalar we do a tour through the lagoon on a boat visiting tourist attractions of that place. At the end we have time for food and finally we end the day staying in a hotel. Night off.

Day 2.- After breakfast we start our trip to the city of Valladolid, where on our arrival we do a city tour around the main plaza and the historic buildings, then we have the night off. Accommodation in a hotel for the night.

Day 3.- After breakfast we prepare to visit the archaeological site of Chichen Itza considered as one of the most important sites in Mexico and one of the Mayan cities also of great importance in the pre-Hispanic times. After Chichen itza we continue the trip to the little town and ecological reserve of “Rio Lagartos”, a place to watch birds, mainly to observe the pink flamingos and and their nesting area, as well as other sea birds. During the tour by the river in boats it is possible watch crocodiles. We have a time for lunch and then we return to the hotel in Valladolid. End of day.

Day 4.- After Breakfast our next destination is the city of Merida passing first through the colonial town of Izamal, there you can visit the convent of “San Antonio de Padua” with its largest atrium of the American continent, later on we continue to the city of Merida where on our arrival we check in a hotel to spend the night.

Day 5.- After breakfast, we do Mérida city tour visiting the Cathedra, the government palace (city hall), the house of Montejo and other colonial buildings of tourist interest. At noon we leave Mérida in direction of the archaeological site of Uxmal (2:30 hrs of visit). Time for meals. Return to the hotel in Merida. Free Night.

Day 6.-After breakfast we check out the hotel and leave for the cenotes of “Santa Barbara” in the village of Homún, excellent place to cool off, enjoy and admire these ancient caves. Meal time and finally we start the return to Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Valladolid. End of services.
